    Peony,

Adding my welcome to the site. As Marion mentioned cc is very individual. Many people have discussed that while one a chemo regime worked, it then stopped working after a period of time and their Dr. moves them to a new drug or drug combo. As well by using the search functionlity in the top right corner you will find information on some of the other treatments that have been discussed here; chemo emobolization, radiation, cyberknife just to name a few. I am sure others will chime in with good information.

    Peony,
I can’t speak to your questions with any authority but I wanted to welcome you to our forum. You will find loads of compassionate support as well as helpful information here from people who “get it”. Most of us have walked the path you are on or are on it now so discussion here is not theoretical.

    God Bless!

Hello Peony and welcome to our site. Don’t you just wish we had met under different circumstances? I am however, glad that you have found us. The fact that your husband’s pain decreased is a welcome response hopefully, showing that the current treatment is effective.
Yes, this cancer is chemotherapy “resistant,” but, it continues to respond favorably to various treatments available. Some people have great results whereas others may not do so well. It is very individual. We try to stay realistic and optimistic and always hope for the best. You can be guaranteed that by being on this board you will have your cheerleading squad behind you.
Until others have a chance to respond to you, you might want to peruse our member established listing of physicians:

I am sending all my best wishes,

    Hi everyone,

I’m new to the site. My husband was diagnosed with CC stage IV in October.
He started chemo (gemzar and cisplatin) in November. His pain in less but we don’t know yet if the tumors are shrinking and won’t know until his 3rd cycle is complete.
I’ve been reading a few other websites and one of them repeatedly discusses the fact that CC is tumor resistant. Does anyone know anything about that. I’ve read so many more positive stories on this site, I’m not sure what to expect.
Also does anyone know of oncologist in NY area that specialize in CC?

    Regards,
    Peony
