SpectatorCongratulations, Nancy – that’s great news! My Dad also had his surgery performed by Dr. Schwartz in October 2010 (lobe removal, portal vein resection, gallbladder removal) and visited Dr. Schwartz last week for his 3 month check up. He also had great news – no sign of cancer on his CT scan!
Penny – I’ll second the endorsement of Dr. Schwartz. He is a truly gifted surgeon and cares deeply about his patients. He also has vast knowledge about cc – one of my Dad’s physicians referred to him as a “sub-specialist.”

MemberHi Nancy, thanks for the personal endorsement. It’s great to hear from someone who has been treated by him. We’ve heard lots of great things but all from other physicians. I’m looking forward to meeting him. And again congratulations on your news. It’s always so encouraging to hear others are doing well. Keep it up!!!!

SpectatorThanks to all @ Peony (one of my favorite flowers I have quite a few bushes in my backyard) Dr. Schwartz is wonderful and caring but he is a man that does not have to say many words you can just feel the warmth and real concern when he is in the room with you. Not to mention he is a brilliant surgeon in my book he’s the man!

SpectatorJust getting home from Mt Sinai NYC where I had my 1 year Ct scan…….all is clear Dr. Schwartz said everything looks good and I’am free of disease at this point. It was Oct 5 2009 that I was diagnosed…Jan 2010 when I had my lobectomy, gallbladder removed and resection. I have graduated he has told me I now only need Ct scan every 4 months. I will see my oncologist on Tuesday he will handle the bloodwork part of my case. Needless to say I feel truly blessed to have this website. with so many caring people, my terrific family, and my medical team who I have total confidence in. Hope truly does spring eternal….to all who are fighting this disease we have to keep on keeping on and so many thanks go out to our caretakers. I hope to continue to post good news but, in the meantime I’m gonna sit back and enjoy the ride.
