Hi everyone. I haven’t been on in a while. My grandmother is still battling. Recently they had to switch up her chemo the Gem and Cisplatin weren’t working on her anymore. This new chemo has knocked her out. She’s lost all her hair and a ton of weight. Today we go to the oncologist for a follow up. To see if she will continue to get chemo. Tumor markers show that tumor activity is up and as such, if they stop chemo, I know what will happen next. I’m devastated and lost right now. I’m praying for everyone. Thank you for listening…

    Hi Kathy,

Great news indeed!!! Brilliant news in fact and thanks so much for sharing that here! I hope that all continues to go well for you and I hope too that you find a new doctor that is very good and also that you are comfortable with.

YIPPEE, Kathy great report, music to my ears! You must feel so secure that you had Dr. Choti when you needed him most! Why do all the good ones have to leave? I guess that’s why, they are good. We are happy to hear updates fr4om you when ever you can! Best wishes for a nice quiet life until time for the next scan. You are doing great, you little Miracle you!

Kathy….it always is wonderful to hear from you. Congratulations, what a fantastic report you received. Not so good on the prior scare which fortunately turned out to be a urinary infection. I am sure that Dr. Choti will enjoy your annual reports wherever he may be. Keep up the great work, dear Kathy and know that we always are thrilled to see you posting on this site.
    Hugs,

After a shaky overnight stay two months ago at the local hospital for a urinary tract infection, where I was treated as a cancer patient instead and was told that something suspicious appeared on my liver, I just had my 3 year scan at Hopkins yesterday and all is well. The only downside of yesterday’s appointment at JH was learning that my beloved Dr. Choti is leaving Hopkins and moving to be Chief of Surgery at a hospital in Texas….a great loss for Hopkins and all of us although a great career move for Dr. Choti. He has given hope to so many of us..and will continue to do so…just not in Maryland.

Even though there are long gaps in checking in with all of you, I follow you all and hold everyone in my heart as we go through this journey together.
