Yes, thank you. Basically 15-17% chance of recurrence after transplant.

Pub Med has an abstract on stats after transplant.I’m computer illiterate when it comes to links, etc.. so I can only provide you with the name of the abstract. Hopefully one of you can pull it up and link to to the board?
Thanks

October 29, 2009 at 6:31 pm #29451marionsModeratorDear Patrick….I do not know of anything relating to a reocurrence post transplant. I don’t know whether any statistics exist. But, I will try to find out as much as possible. Please, also share with us whatever you may learn. Others on this board have had a liver transplant and hopefully, they are able to chime in on this conversation. How are you feeling?
All my best wishes,
MarionOctober 29, 2009 at 5:15 pm #29450patrb1961SpectatorHi Marion,
The reason I was enquiring about clinical trials is to see if there any new treatments in the pipe line that may reduce the risk of the cancer returning.
I have been advised that even though I have a transplant there is always the risk of me getting cancer again. This is just one medics view on this subject.
In the last two weeks I have learned that one of the patients who was in hospital with me died after cancer returning. He also had a successful liver transpalnt last year.
Regards
Patrick
October 27, 2009 at 1:27 am #29449marionsModeratorDear Patrick….I read through you previous posting and realized that you had a liver transplant 10 months ago in Dublin. I am wondering as to why you are interested in a clinical trial.
Best,
MarionOctober 27, 2009 at 1:17 am #29448marionsModeratorHello Patrick…..all clinical trials should be listed (and hopefully, are) with clinicaltrials.gov.
Here is a sample of what I have been able to pull up.

Good luck, Patrick.
I am attending a workshop on Cancer Clinical Research and will add another posting where I will share some of the information I have received.
Patrick, please reach out. Gladly, I will help you.
Best wishes,

MarionOctober 19, 2009 at 8:22 pm #29445patrb1961SpectatorThank you for this information regarding clinical trials
October 15, 2009 at 12:33 am #29444marionsModeratorHello and a warm welcome. I would start looking at this site and follow those trials actively recruiting patients. You may find some to be accessible near you and you will need to meet the criteria such as, no metastases, etc. You would also want to discuss this with your physician.

Please, stay in touch as we will gladly help you with any questions.
