ModeratorEli…I am also thrilled to hear that Marina has finished her treatments. So sorry that she had the nasty side effect of Neupogen however; I hope for each day to better than the previous one.

SpectatorHi Percy,
Any chance you can get hold of the article PDF? I’m keen to read the entire article.
Thank you for your concern about my DW. Marina finished chemo on April 20th. She completed 6 cycles of GEM/CIS. If you remember, she had a clean CT scan early in April. Our oncologist gave us an option to stop chemo right there and then. We decided to go for one more cycle, to finish 6 cycles as was originally planned. Marina is still recovering from that last cycle. She has been taking painkillers to manage strong pain in bones and joints. The pain is a side-effect of the Neupogen shots. Thankfully, the pain is getting better as Neupogen effect is wearing off.
Percy, please take good care of yourself.
Best wishes,

Eli, please take care of your wife first and
Gavin, please say hi to your mum for me.

ModeratorThanks Percy, hope you manage to get yourself a copy of it. And yes, I’ll be sure to say hi to my mum from you. She has her 6 monthly app with her COPD nurse tom to see how things are going etc. Lots of tests, walking moving, and lung function tests too, then another app the following Friday for an ECG to check her heart. Last lung function test showed about 25% so hoping that it stays around that level. An increase would be good but that ain’t going to happen. Sounds weird saying that you hope that your mums lung capacity stays at only 25%, but thats the reality of COPD! Funnily enough, Dundee is wet, cold and with the prospect of further periods of rain and cold temps! Tomorrow night it will get down to -6c with the chance of snow…….So much for spring and all that!!!
And many thanks as well Eli for posting part 2 of the same paper, much appreciated!
My best wishes to you both,
Gavin
