ModeratorThank you Darla. Mum is feeling a bit better today, still got the pain but it is less than yesterday so that makes today a better day. Plus I fried her some fish for her tea and that is her favourite so she was happy with that.
Hugs to you too,
Gavin

SpectatorOh Gavin,
I’m so sorry to hear of the latest health problems your mum is experiencing. I know you will take good care of her and take care of yourself, also. Know that I am thinking of you and mum and hoping for things to get better soon.
Lots of love & hugs for both of you from Wisconsin.
Darla

ModeratorHi Percy,
Thanks for that. My apologies to you and everyone else for my not being around too much these last few days. To be honest, the last 3-4 weeks have not been great for my mum and I have not been able to be here as much as I would like to be or am used to being. The week before Christmas mum was rushed into hospital with chest pains and she couldn’t get a breath either. The A&E docs did some testing and they ruled out another heart attack which obviously was good news. But mum was in a ton of pain around the chest area and was having trouble moving which they put down to it being muscular pains related to her COPD etc. Anyway, she was given co-codamols for the pain and sent home at around 3.30am which I was not happy about but thats another story. The pain meds worked a lot, but they were too strong and she was vomitting with them all the next day. So got the GP out and he changed her meds and put her on Prednisilone and amoxycillin as well for her chest.
So, basically since then until now she has been in a ton of pain every time she moves, coughs, sneezes etc and with COPD, you cough a lot! So it has been a pretty horrible 3 weeks or so for mum as you could imagine. She has had bouts of this before and they usually last about a month or so before easing. Her breathing is better now and the pains has lessened, but still when she coughs she gets a load of pain. And these incidences are getting more frequent and are coming quicker than before. I guess that this is down to her COPD worsening, but it was pretty bad to begin with and she has had this for around 8 years or so so I guess it is natural for things to progress here.
Yes my bet wasn’t exactly a success to say the least, but thats the gamble! And there’s always next year for me to recoup my loss!!! Haven’t caught much of the playoff action to be honest but I saw some highlights of the Denver game with Tebow doing his thing against the Steelers. Now thats the way to win a playoff game in O/T and no wonder Elway was going ballistic on the Denver sidelines! I guess that the Bronco fans have finally found their new Elway! Lets see how they do against the Pats though on the road. Interesting to see how these 49’ers do now that we’re in the playoffs. Thanks Percy.
Best wishes,
Gavin

MemberHi,Gavin,
where have you been? Is you and your mum Ok?
I haven’t see you post lately. I hope everything is fine.
If I can be of any help to you, please feel free to ask as I am back to work now.Well,I am sorry you lost your 50 pounds to bet on the BEARS; it will be always a next year again . However the BEARS who won at 1985 is actually much better than another Chicago team called the CUBS (104 years without winning the baseball world series). Let see how the 49ers will do next week,I have high hope on them; but the TEBOW effect is very new and nobody knows what it will mean to Denver and the entire NFL football.
once again, be sure to say hi to your mum for me.
And “without the Lord, everything is in vain.”
and I know you know where the above quotation comes from.
what a profound sentence on such an important emblem.
God bless.January 9, 2012 at 7:08 pm #56393January 9, 2012 at 7:08 pm #6172gavin
