We lost my mom this year on Aug 29th…she only made it for 3 days in hospice too. But she was surrounded by the people who loved her. I know exactly how you feel. I could not put what I went through into words…it was a blurr. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Take care, you are brave. EliciaOctober 27, 2009 at 6:57 pm #32612saracitaMemberDear Michelle,
I recently went through those blurry hours and days at the end of a loved one’s life. Hospice care at home definitely was the way to go. The only consolation that has really rung true is that it is the end of your father’s, and my boyfriend’s terrible suffering. I am so sorry for your loss.Sarah

I’m so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I’m glad you were able to have him come home to be surrounded by loving family during his last few days.
Thinking of you at this very difficult time,
Ashley.October 26, 2009 at 7:48 pm #32607katieloumattMemberMichelle,
I know just what you are going through. We lost my Dad at the end of June this year after just 7 weeks of this horrendous diagnosis. I know that your Dad too had a rapid onset.
You were there for your Dad and you will in time take comfort from that. The days ahead will be bleak, painful and lonely. We are all here for you.
Your Dad lives on in your heart and memories, no-one can take that away from you.
Sending you love and hugs at this most devastating time, Katie

I know that your heart is broken right now. I am so sorry. My mom passed away September 13th, and my heart still breaks more every day. Please know that we are here for you during this difficult time.
Love, Amy

DarlaOctober 26, 2009 at 3:10 pm #32604lainySpectatorDear Michelle, we are so very sorry for your loss. Your dad was so lucky to have you by his side on this monstrous journey and you should be very proud of yourself for being his strongest advocate. We know he is in a more peaceful place. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
October 26, 2009 at 2:57 pm #2819michelle432SpectatorHi all –
Dad passed away on Tuesday morning, Oct 20 with my Mom by his side. We had him home for only 3 days with hospice. I can’t bring myself to talk about the last few days, as they were very hard. However, I take some comfort in knowing that he was home and not alone. I was with him through Monday evening.
Please pray for our family. And I will continue to pray for all those fighting this disease and for the people who love them.
Michelle
