Beth….the everlasting story of side effects. Hopefully, Dave will be back home real soon with a functioning digestive tract.
I am sending tons of good wishes your way,

    Hi Ladybug,

Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that the doctors can indeed do what they are thinking without having to surgically clip off that area. Please keep us updated.

    Best wishes to you both,

    Gavin

Hope they will be able to resolve this without surgical intervention, it is so hard to build up your strength and then have surgery again. Keep us posted.

Dang, Ms Ladybug…so what do you do for excitement? Thinking of you both and hoping Dave will not have to go through another surgery!

Hope all will go well. Hope since you are in St. Louis, you are at Barnes-Jewish, they are my doctors. You could not be in any better care. They saved my life twice, (one time I had 36 hours to live and 14 units of blood) they never gave up and are so full of positive energy. God bless-Cathy

    Helllo all….

He has not been able to keep any foods down so his Doctor wanted us in St. Louis yesterday by noon to admit him. He was dehydrated, so they are giving him IV fluids. He had an ex ray of his lower bowel yesterday, but they were not able to see much, only that his intestine was inflamed and damaged from the radiation, one area was narrowed. He is having a test right now, where he drinks a chalky substance and they ex ray him to watch it go down to determine exactly where it is blocked. Doc says that it may be that they can run a scope and balloon to clear the intestines, but if it is too damaged then they will have to surgically clip off the area that is blocked. (I am hoping this is not the case as that would mean opening him up again) I am hoping to hear something soon.

    I will keep you posted
