marion–I would like to speak with you about my sister. Please let me know if you can call me– (757) 773 5197. Thanks, heather
March 23, 2010 at 4:10 am #36419marionsModeratorHeather…..I hope that your sister gets a brake and responds favorably to the new treatments. Crossing my fingers. Thanks for staying in touch and please, keep us posted.
Best wishes,
MarionMarch 23, 2010 at 4:07 am #36418lainySpectatorHi Kathy. October 1st I had surgery and they found a large GIST Stromal tumor wrapped around my intestines. Only about 5,000 people a year get it. Again no research being done and it comes back within 2 years. So hopefully IF it comes back (50%) chance, they can easily remove it as I am being watched just like Teddy! That is our rare Cancer Dance. Best wishes for Kathy’s new cocktail to be the best one!
March 23, 2010 at 3:18 am #36417heatherblessMemberwell- kathy has to go into the hospital now for chemo. The doctors switched her to a new chemo with taxotere and zeloda, because they said that the Gem/and Oxalyplatin was not working. I just hope this works. Lainey, what type of cancer are you dealing with? best to all of you, heather
March 14, 2010 at 7:36 pm #36416marionsModeratorHi Heather….CC and Ampullary Cancer are biliary cancerc. I don’t know much about it however, this site may be of help: http://www.surgery.usc.edu/divisions/tumor/pancreasdiseases/web%20pages/BILIARY%20SYSTEM/AMPULLARY%20CANCER.html
It is so nice to hear from you. I am wishing for things to turn around for the better.
Best wishes coming your way,
MarionMarch 14, 2010 at 6:51 pm #36415devoncatSpectatorI know nothing yet. Surgery is still either the 22 or 23 of March. My oncologist still hasnt got a firm list of the surgeons. The only thing settled is the apartment Hans and my parents are going to rent for the time I am in the hospital. The snow is JUST starting to melt so I am looking forward to the first spring flowers…hopefully just in time for me to be discharged from the hospital. I am doing well and the only thing I have to complain about is my dads feet sure do stink and are making my flat smelly. But I am so happy that my parents are here and it is so good to see them that I am just going to deal with stinky feet.
So how are you doing?
KrisMarch 14, 2010 at 4:57 pm #36414lainySpectatorHi Heather, good to see you again. We are doing fine, Teddy has a PET Scan
Wednesday, so let’s hope he gets the luck of the Irish even though he is Sicilian! I am doing ok. I just tell everyone that T & I are having a Rare Cancer Dance together and it’s all OK as long as we dance to the same music. Hopefully Disco! Thanks for asking.March 14, 2010 at 3:58 pm #3290heatherblessMemberHi all: hope you are doing well. I am looking at the most recent posts and I wanted to get an update on how everyone was doing. Devoncat, hope things go well with your surgery–do you know anything yet? Lainey, how are you and Teddy? I am still trying to figure out if ampullary cancer and CC is in the same family–is it? My sister is doing better and has started on a new chemo. Please give me an update and thanks. Best, heather
