Hi Joolz, A lot of things have been accomplished with a great attitude and you have it! You have done well! My husband is on a 2 week on one week off schedule. He is handling it quite well. His liver markers have been coming down. I am glad you are concentrating on and enjoying living!
Cheers

Welcome to the site. Sorry that you had to find us all and I’m sorry also to hear of your diagnosis, but I am glad that you have joined us all as you will get a ton of support and help from us all. I may be biased here, but this site and all the people here will be a great resource for you. I came here back in 2008 when my dad was diagnosed with inoperable CC and everyone here helped me so much, and I know that we will all do that for you as well.
Please, if you have any questions at all then please ask away and I am sure that someone will be able to help and share their experiences with you. We are a very friendly bunch and don’t bite!
From what you have siad, it sounds like you have a very positive attitude indeed and that is great and will carry you a long way. As you say, you are NOT dead and you do need strong people around you. I know that we are not there with you in person, but we are all here for you no matter what. I do hope that you keep coming back here as I think you will get a lot from being here, and also people here know what you are going through and can relate to how you are feeling. Looking forward to hearing from you more and getting to know you.
Best wishes,
Gavin

What a wonderful attitude you have about not moving into the Land of Hysteria – I love that! You are not dead and have a lot of life to live regardless of the number of days. There is so much joy to be made and precious memories. Read some of Lainy’s posts of how she and Teddy made their time together so special. We hope you find the strength and friendship on this site that you desire. Blessings, Susan
January 10, 2011 at 11:58 am #4603joolz822MemberIn May of 2009 I was diagnosed with anal cancer. Subsequent surgery for removal of the tumor, permanent colostomy, chemo and radiation begin in June. I was then found to have liver cancer and had surgery for that in Feb 2010. I was cancer-free for seven months till I received this news two days before this past Christmas.
I have Stage IV. It has spread to my pancreas and I have a tumor in the lowest vertebra of my spine. I’ve had two chemo sessions and I’m not sure how many I will need. Guess I should find out. *g* The schedule is two consecutive weeks for chemo, one week off and then it begins again. Obviously they are not trying for a cure, rather just to lengthen my time left. Thankfully I am no where near the quality versus quantity stage yet.
My oncologist (aka Wilson) says I have about a year or so left.
I am fairly calm about it. What’s the point in moving into the Land of Hysteria? That would be too easy and oh so pointless. I’m not dead yet. I need people around me to be strong so therefore I must act and be strong as well.
I just stumbled upon this site by accident and glad I did. I hope it will be a good resource.
