Hello Reacher and welcome to the best place to be for CC support. I am so sorry that your husband has started this crazy journey and as you have already experienced it is the worst ride on a roller coaster. Many times we have seen the tumors come way down in size from the chemo thus allowing for surgery, our favorite word. May I ask where he is being treated? My husband also had the pancreatic problem from dye leakage from the ERCP. It took about 2 weeks for the Pancreas to heal. Then he had a Whipple surgery. Please let us know what the outcome is of the meeting. Know that you are not alone you now have a huge family all acquainted with CC, I am sending the best to you and hour hubby.
I am the caregiver for my husband who was newly diagnosed with bile duct cancer in early June.
He was hospitalized over six weeks.
He had two ERCPs one if which tripped pancreatitis, two EUSs, one laparoscopy and a laparotomy with a double gastric bypass as the bile duct cancer was wrapped around the SMA (artery) and renal vein.
His unusual case went to tumour Tuesday for discussion between chemo and radiation Drs.
Throughout crazy bilirubin counts hitting 460 he remained stoic and the patient patient.
I have been beside him along this road supporting him.
He had the tumours marked by the surgeon if the oncologists do radiation.
Currently he is on chemotherapy with cisplatin and gemacitibin.
His case is challenging as he is on blood thinners from endocarditis a year and a half ago.
There have been low platelet counts with cancelled chemos.
He is relatively young and certainly active and healthy prior to this golfing, playing tennis, swimming, walking and hiking.
I am looking for support at ths time.
