minnie…The question of pain becoming in issue in the advanced stages of this disease is not uncommon. As Andie has mentioned progression of disease is not always accompanied by pain and that may likely be the case for your husband also. As you have mentioned his stubbornness may serve him well. I wish for all good things to continue.
All my best,
Marion
Dear Minnie, like Andie says, not everyone experiences pain. A lot can depend on where the CC is and if it is pushing organs around or if it has metastisized. I am concerned that your husband is losing his balance and refuses to use his cane. If he falls he will have more problems. Vanity thy name is man!
My Dad suffered no pain throughout his cc journey, only a little discomfort after a stent procedure, but then not enough to need painkillers.
It was always my main worry that he would be in pain, as reading alot of stories on here mentioned pain. Dad must have been one of the lucky ones and hopefully your husband will remain pain free too.
My husband is 10 months today from diagnosis and he has not had any pain so far. He gets frequent infections from the two stents he has and needs replacement every couple months. he is quite weak and off balance when he walks, but will not use the cane due to stubborness. and he lays around most of the time but does not have any pain. It seems that everyone reports having pain on this site. Is there anyone out there like him?
