My Boyfriend, Dave, is on is third round of Xeloda. He has add minimal side effects, some nausea. It seems to be working as his tumour markers have decreased by half.

    Figen,

There are many patients taking Xeloda right now. Mark is one of them. You can also find links on the general information page under the chemo worksheet.

    figen,

My father in law was on Genxar (gemcitabine) and Xeloda (capacitabine for his cholangio and they actually helped out as his tumor markers went down. The Gemzar gave him very little side effects but the Xeloda gave him mild hand foot sydrome and diarhea. Figen if you go to google and put in cholangiocarcinoma chemo you can learn of these drugs also pub med has listings. Hope this helps you and your mom for they can buy you some time but not a cure.

    God Bless,

    Hi Everyone,

I ‘ve found some information about capecitabine (xeloda) in of the website which is a chemotheraopy medicine. It is said that Capecitabine is a special medicine which has not any side effects to the normal body cells, it only effects the cells which have cancer. It is generally used for colon , breast and some gastrointestinal cancers like cholongiocarcinom and stomach cancer.
The article says that it is not found in Turkey where we live but it is known in all European countries , USA and Israel.

Is there anybody who has heard about it ?

    Thanks,
    Figen
