Dr. Jerome Canady

I was extracting information on “Neill,” husband of Cindy Russell for a foundation database, when I ran across references to the controversial Dr. Jerome Canady. Neill posted on these boards from 10/31/07 – 11/27/07 and on his own web site. According to him, Dr. Canady used his invention, the Plasma Beam Catheter to remove every vestige of cancerous tumor at the cellular level that had been wrapped around the arteries and veins of Cindy’s liver. Doctors from John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, and Pittsburg UPMC had said she was inoperable and gave her no more than 6 months to live. The case was reported on television news. Cindy passed away on 16 Nov 2009, having survived 2.35 years since her surgery and 2.69 years since her diagnosis, well over her 6 month expectation.

Dr. Canady presently is associated with the Canady Surgical Group in Washington, DC. He refers to his invention now as a Plasma Surgical Scapel, with scalpel spelled scapel. I couldn’t find any other information on this device by Googling. However, there is information on a device with a similar name and similar purpose, the Micor-Plasma Surgical Scalpel, which is discussed in a NASA Tech Brief for 11/1/11 and in more detail at:

killthecancer……I am not sure whether Tom will come to this site therefore, I will take it upon myself to answer your question. Unfortunately, I have to report that Katia’s Dad had passed away soon after surgery. In fact, he never left the hospital. If you are considering a qualified physician regarding surgery for this disease I would make sure to check the reputation and medical records of such doctor. I am so sorry for your loss.
I am looking for some updats for Dr canady if you are ok to pass the information can you please let us know if you think your father would have survived if he did not go to Dr canady?
only reason i am asking is we are planning to visit him for one our family memeber so wanted check on every thing befor we take any decision. you input will be higly appreciated.

Dear Katia and Silvia Velasco….. My sincere condolences to you both and your Family. From your discription of how advanced his situation was, Your Father was an extremely strong and brave man. His decision to fight this desease was couragous. May he now without pain nor suffering rest in peace. Although it has taken some time, here we are, my sister and I, writing to you in search for your support at this horrible time. Our hearts still ake with pain and we are still finding it difficult to open up and write about it. Our father passed away on the 29th of November after battling very hard against this monster and for 15 days post surgery. His surgery was major, it lasted close to 13 hours and it involved removing 50 percent of his liver and pancreas, gall bladder, part of his stomach and intestines.
