    My best wishes to you,

Results of the CT scan showed a little, tiny bit of progression, but my oncologist calls it “stable disease”. YAY!!! I know that is the best we can hope for, so it is good news.

I’ll be going back for chemo next Monday with the same regimen we’ve been on for the past 3 months, and in another 3-4 months will have another CT scan.

I overdid it this weekend and ended up with a fever last night. I feel still pretty drained, to tell you the truth. I just got back home from my CT scan. We’ll have the results on Thursday.

    Hi Lisa,

I am glad that the Ibuprofen seems to have worked a bit and I hope you continue to recover.

    Hi Lisa,
I am so glad you were able to have the metal stent. My husband Rick had one put in right after diagnosis and he was sore for a few days with an occasional pain but it passed with no further problems…Thinking of you and hoping you are pain free soon. Keep healing!!!

    Lisa,
Try not to worry about the pain right now. Give your body time to heal. Some people (I am one of them) have “sensitive” (read that pains in the butt) lungs that love to let you know you had some type of procedure in their neighborhood and they dont like it.My lungs remind me of two little kids in the backseat of a car that like to complain and start fights if the other puts their finger on the other ones sides. Nothing has happened, but boy do they like to complain.

If it is still painful in a couple of weeks, go talk to your doctor. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for your responses. I think for some reason that the lining around my lungs became inflammed. I started some anti-inflammatory ibuprofen for the pain and the pain has subsided considerably.

Don’t know why the inflammation started… anesthesia perhaps?

One ERCP I had left me feeling like I had been karate-chopped in the throat. I could hardly talk the next day! Heaven knows what those doctors do when they’re rummaging around in there…

    Hi Lisa,

My dad had similar pain in his side and ribs after he had the metal stent put in and this went on for some time. The weeks following the placement he was still in the hospital and the pain was managed with morphine at first then codeine based tablets. When he came home he was still taking the codeine and this worked, although he would still get some twinges for a while in the same areas that you are. Do you have any pain meds for this?

Perhaps the pain is different for you this time as it is a metal stent and not plastic that was placed?

I hope the pain subsides very soon and you get some relief here.

    Best wishes

My sides and back are still very sore and have been sore since my release from the hospital on Monday. I am wondering if I should worry or if this is normal. The sides of my ribs feel like someone kicked them and taking a deep breath is somewhat painful.

I thought the pain would be gone by now. I don’t remember feeling like this the last times I had the ERCP.

    Lisa,
Good news that the doctor put in a stent that will last longer than three months. Now, we will be waiting to hear more good news from you on the 21st.
    Best wishes,
    Rowena
