I’m just starting – had my first round on Friday – began with an anti-nausea drug, then Decadron (a steroid) to boost the anti-nausea drug. Then oxilaplatin and leucovorin together followed by a 46-hour infusion of 5-FU.

I’d forgotten that the anti-nausea drug and the steroid wore off in about 48 hours and was wondering why I felt crummy – fatigue and nausea, and nothing tastes good. That said, I’m still only 4-days from the beginning of the treatment and don’t know how long I will feel like this.

I found walking helps relieves the nausea at least for a while.

I have experience with the oxilaplatin in that combination. I just had a severe reaction to cold things. That is all. I know that on the cold cap machine at the hospital it gives instruction on how to use it with FOLFOX so it is possible that hairloss could be a problem.

Hi – I might be getting FOLFOX soon. Just wondering about others experiences with this regimen. I’m anxious to know more about it. Thanks.
