October 24, 2014 at 12:25 am #85224lainySpectatorAh, Brenda you are so very sweet. Some might say I am crazy but I always try to be up even in bad times and Teddy was the same. Some may not think this funny but if T came upon a sales person or bad wait staff he would simply say, “I’m sorry you are having a bad day”. He really felt they did not realize how they were coming across. He just didn’t like rudeness. Anyway I digressed here but I am just so very happy for you. I must say I think you will be having some extremely good holidays this year!
October 23, 2014 at 8:44 pm #85223brenda-on-the-farmSpectatorDear Lainy, I was surprised how fast Kenny started to heal. The color in his face was of a healthy person within hours. I tell ya, it was a Blessing…. Even at 68 he is very active and other than the CC He is a very healthy person. Never had spent a day or night in the hospital EVER. I just want people to know that age should not be a reason Not to get a liver or any other treatment for cc. We fought this together and we feel better for it.
I have to tell you that your posts are like a breath of fresh air, you are thoughtful and upbeat when I needed to be, for that I thank you. I don’t post alot but I read all the posts I can. Lol you crack me up at times too.
BrendaOctober 23, 2014 at 6:56 pm #85222lainySpectatorHi Brenda and Kenny and than you for this wonderful news! Kenny sure deserves a well earned YIPPEE! I am wishing for you both to have much continued progress. This also gives others HOPE and I am astounded that he reaped his own harvest in such a short time. YIPPEE!
October 23, 2014 at 6:08 pm #10676brenda-on-the-farmSpectatorHello ! I am not new to this site but I didn’t introduce myself in the early beginning ! At that time I was just so consumed with worry, wanting to get all the information I could to help us with this awful cc, so here goes…..
My husband had cc diagnosed 2012, we weren’t sure exactly what that meant but was told just how bad it was. The saddest day in our lives , it was April and by June we had got that Famous 2nd opinion ! Nine months later He was listed for a liver transplant in March 2014 and on the last day of May we got the call, He was so very lucky to qualifie and get a donated liver, we thiank God for that and all of our team that gave him his life back.
He is 68 by the way, some Drs would not have worked to get him a liver, but our dr at Barnes did just that, Dr Chapman is a very caring Dr.We can’t say enough good about him, I thank Cathy here on the forum for telling us about her own case and results.
Kenny was able to recover very nicely and is now back to his self. The fall harvest is over for us and with great results from the new liver, Kenny was able to do his own work ! He was so very happy.
I’d like to thank every person on this wonderful site for all of the stories that they are going thru or have done. It helps to not feel so alone in this Battle we all have been through
Kenny has his first mri since transplant oct 29th, Sure hope we continue with good news,Love and Thanks
