This was posted in a local paper. As this company has been producing other stents, mainly vascular coated stents, I assume this stent to be resistant to infections. Hopefully, I will be able to contact the company in the near furture.

Medtronic, which develops stent technology in Santa Rosa, said Thursday the Food and Drug Administration has cleared a new stent system for sale in the United States.
    The Complete SE Biliary Stent.

The Complete SE Bilary Stent System was developed and is assembled in Santa Rosa, the center of Medtronic’s vascular operations. The stent itself is made in Germany.

This system will be used to treat cancerous tumors in the bile duct that can affect digestion by restricting the flow of digestive fluids.
