MD Anderson will do a scan every 3 months for 2 years and than one every 6 months for 3 years after that, I then will be considered a survivor. Fingers crossed! I am grateful that my oncologist and his team are taking such good care of me. I am thankful and thank God every day .Hi bgmat48 and congratulations. I have not spent much time here and am not familiar with situation. Would you mind sharing the circumstances surrounding your diagnosis and the what and when of your treatment?
I had surgery to remove my Hilar Tumor in April of 2014. I also had Chemo and Radiation treatments which concluded December 2014. My Oncologist moved my scans to every 6 months after just 2 scans at the 3 month interval.
Again great news on the scan
Take Care

October 6, 2015 at 9:34 am #89981herculesModeratorBrigitte, you don’t have to wait 3 months to be told so, I will tell you right now, You are one of us, You are a survivor, right now today. You will be one from now on. Don’t ever for a minute think otherwise, You are now living the rest of your life, You must believe that, scans only confirm what you already know. Don’t let this disease hold you hostage, do what you can when you can, and set a goal to move on, go back to your life, it will happen. God bless, Pat

We all know that CC can come back even in those early months after surgery, so every scan is important to get through and go beyond. I don’t remember being nervous for the first post resection scan, but then again, I didn’t know much back then about recurerence. You’re at MD Anderson and they will take good care of you and I know that you will also stay vigilant. Prayers for you that the next scan will be the same.

Wishing for continued success.
