MMML, just so happens when we came home after Teddy’s surgeries in Milwaukee (we had been visiting kids when he got sick with CC and our 2 week vacation turned in to 2 1/2 months) back to Phoenix, I booked direct flights. Teddy had 2 tubes from the side to the tummy. We were 1/2 hour from Phoenix and both tubes blew out! No pain at all just a big wet embarrassment for him! There were 2 Nurses on our flight and a doctor. They pulled the rest of the tubing out and wrapped him in blankets and I told them to call an Ambulance to take him to our Hospital. My daughter picked up our bags and met us at the hospital. As they are wheeling him in on the gurney Teddy lifts up when he sees Robin
and he says, “Well, did you ever see the movie ‘AIRPLANE’? We laughed, it was sad but funny too. So, we waited for an hour in ER as the idiot driver took him in the front instead of the back where they take you right in. I called the Surgeon in Milwaukee and told him what happened and I said I have to get this guy home. I let him know I had some drainage bags that I would just adhere to the 2 sights until we can get new tubes in. The Surgeon said, get him the hell home!
So, my suggestion is this. Talk to Dr. Javle but see if you can also carry with you some bags just in case. Best of luck.
