Hi Bill, I was going to ask this under another post you have but since Marion mentioned it, I wanted to say don’t forget you can get second opinions from other doctors at any time. May I ask who you are using out here?

Hello Bill&Lulu…..There had been several postings re: the FOLFIRY combination however, I don’t remember the individual outcomes. It appears that since the Gem/Cis combo has become the first ever established standard of care, FOLIRY has been prescribed less often. This does not mean though, that Lulu may not show a favorable response to this combination of drugs. Bill, if you have any doubt or questions re: the recommendation of your oncologist and if you are interested in doing so, then you might want to gather a few more opinions from other specialists treating Cholangiocarcinoma.
When attending the GI ASCO in Florida I asked a similar question regarding a non-response to Gem/Cis and what then would a patient receive. The answer was confirmed by several other physicians: Then it is up to the oncologist to try other drugs in various combinations depending, on what he/she chooses.
    I hope this helped.
Good luck and all my best wishes coming your way,
    Marion

    Dear Marions:

In our today’s visit, our oncologist decided to give FOLFIRI + Avastin to my wife who has been treated with Gemzar based drugs for 4months. I was wondering who else has received the similar treatment. I searched the whole forum but only find this link. Do you have any more info about treating Cholangiocarcinama with FOLFIRI based combination?

    Thanks
    Bill Liu
