Yes I saw that one Catherine but thanks for mentioning it too. Wasn’t sure exactly where UT was in the USA so had to go google it when Donna told me about the candle. I always though that UT was more north in the US for some reason!

    Hugs,

    Gavin

Gavin, in case you haven’t checked out all the States, I saw another candle for your Dad in UT :)

Correct, Gavin. I think that this is where the problem seems to occur. But, I have reached out to our Social Media Team to make sure that we have addressed it correctly.

I saw the candle that you lit for Percy and my dad Catherine, thank you very much! Much appreciated and I know my mum will be so grateful as well.

Marion, when you click on the light a candle icon you have to select location as either the USA or international and you have to chose 1 in order to light the candle.

    Hugs to you and Catherine,

    Gavin

Catherine…..thanks for all you do as well. It appears that the donor’s State shows up rather than that of the recipient. I will check into this.
    Hugs,
    Marion

Thank you Catherine and very glad to hear that some of the links I post were of use and interest to you! One of the reasons that I post so many links on the site is to indeed show people that there is hope and that there is also research being done into CC. I just wish that they would come up with the cure faster but I guess we all want that! We will get there though, just a matter of time.

Did you click on the USA or International button when you lit your candle? Or it could be down to your ISP which will show your location as MD and mine as Scotland. Dunno if that’s the case and Rick would know more about that.

A great suggestion you have about next years candle too! And yes, Percy touched so many people’s life didn’t he. A true gent who tirelessly worked to help others touched by CC. He is sorely missed by us all and thanks for lighting a candle for him.

    Hugs,

    Gavin

    Gavin,

What you do is so much more than a small part. When we had an ONC who was saying wait and see, I sent her a couple of journal articles from links you have posted to show her that there may not be large studies published yet, but there is hope.

I was a bit disappointed that my candle showed up in MD rather than UK, but we’ll just have to ask Marion for next year to give us that option. Or, maybe the goal should be to see how many places around the globe someone like Percy touched and how many places we can see a candle lit in his memory.

I guess we can throw that challenge out there- if there’s someone on this board who has touched your life (can be living still and honored rather than memorialized – Duke comes to mind, but many others) light a candle – they even have a donation as low as $10 that will be matched by other donors.

Thank you Catherine, that is so very nice of you!!! I lit one as well last week for him so he is getting spoiled with candles on both sides of the pond!

And thank you as well for what you say. I am very proud to play a small part in the CCF and in doing so hopefully will be able to help others if I can. Thank you Catherine.

    Hugs,

    Gavin

    Dear Gavin,

I am constantly so thankful that you, and others on this board, have responsed to losing loved ones by helping others, Very small token of appreciation, but I lit a candle for your Dad so there is one (or maybe many) burning on this side of the pond for him as well. I’m sure he is proud of what you are doing for all of us and your Mum.

Thanks Julie and Darla. And yes, the years sure do fly in don’t they. Hard to believe that it’s now 6 years since we first came here!

    Hugs to you both,

    Gavin

Thinking of you Gavin and also your mom & dear dad as I know he is still with you. :)

I’m a year ahead of you. Over 6 years for Jim. Hard to believe how these years have gone by.

    Hugs,
    Darla

Thanks Lainy!! Yep just a year ahead of T, where does the time go! I know that my dad would love eating Italian with T and Chinese with Percy, he loved all of the foods of the world! And I can imagine him trying to get T and Percy to try some haggis as well. “Just try it, honestly, you’ll love it. Forget what it’s made of, just try it! Here’s some tatties and neeps to go with it too!”

Me thinks Teddy and Percy may be a tad sceptical of the haggis though. Even with my dad’s persuasion! :)

    Thanks Momma!

Gavin, I didn’t realize Dad was really just 1 year ahead of Teddy. I wonder if he visited the Italian Restaurant yet or Perry’s Chinese Restaurant. I tell you none of us will lack a place to eat!
You will get a Medal of Honor for the way you have taken care of your Dad and Mum. You are truly a wonderful son and I know that even across the water.

Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary since his passing.

Rest in Peace Dad. Miss you loads and think about you each day. Love ya loads too.

    Gavin

PS – Doing my best for mum and keeping that promise I made to you. You know how stubborn she can be sometimes though. Some things will never change. Yeah yeah, I can hear you laughing!!! :)
