    When my mom had her resection the surgeon said he removed her gallbladder as well and that it was riddled with cancer, though he said it appeared to be a different cancer. Since then I have wondered if she would have developed the cc at all if her gallbladder had been removed years ago. Someone posted a link that led me to another article on this exact topic and I think it is very interesting:

    I know it is probably not a good idea to go taking out gallbladders willy nilly but for those who have a risk factor for cc, maybe it is something to think about and I was wondering if those who are diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis ever have the gallbladder removed as a precautionary measure.
