    Kris,

Love that beer with anti-nausea med chaser! I do feel for you all the way. I remember you speaking of the difficulties you had with oxal. before. Hope this time isn’t so hard on you, and that you are tolerating it well.

By the way, ice cream was my “night before” treat too! I only had neuropathy and mild cold sensitivity for about 2 wks after each treatment. Maybe since you had it before, it will be easier this time. ???

    All my best,

    Linda

For me, the cold sensitivity went away again about 3 days after my first treatment– I don’t know if it will continue like that, though.

I had a big dish of ice cream the night before!!

    Kris:

3 1/2 months of Xeloda/Gemzar/Oxaliplatin from March to June ’10 here. To the extent I can still feel with my fingers and toes, I know exactly how you feel with the cold! I seem to have neuropathy now, or something like it, as the numbness anf tingling in hands/feet has increased in July-Aug-Sept…after therpy was suspended! But the black-hearted evil tumor shrank! The good news for me is that the chemo onc says he’s not planning to continue with oxaliplatin when chemo eventually resumes.

Don’t forget to wear your gloves when going into the refrigerator!

    Blessings.

    Hi Kris,

Hope things went as well as could be expected for you today and the nausea hasn’t got to you.

    Thinking of you,

Uh – oxaliplatin. I feel for you. Fortunately for me I developed an allergy to it!

I start the dreaded oxaliplatin in the morning…only dreaded for me because I get SO sensitive to cold things. OUCH to all things metal and cold. To say goodbye to cold drinks, I had a beer with lime. YUM. What did I wash down with it? Why anti nausea meds of course! Why oh why when I was in college did no one give me those drugs before I big night out? If I only knew about primperan 15 years ago.

    Kris
