Genetic Testing

I was wondering how many of you found out that you had CC. What symptoms, by accident, hereditary? I’ve written on here recently that my mother age 46, has been diagnosed with CC July of 2010, stage IV-in operable. She will be going to San Antonio on Monday to see about a Phase I clinical trial as it is our last option. Has anyone heard of success with clinical trials? I just feel like she will be a guinea pig and hate for her to suffer through more pain as we’ve been told that it will only buy some time. My sister and I are getting some genetic testing done to see if we carry the gene that can cause CC, breast/ovarian, stomach, pancreatic, colon cancer. It is the BRCA analysis.
