Going in for surgery next week

Ike, I also have been trying to watch TV. Only thing I can find is the Millionaire Matchmaker. Can you play some games on the computer? Couldn’t believe pre football started tonight! I went to a movie this afternon and saw “The Help”, absolutely fabulous!!! Teddy used to love TCM Classic Movies. He must have watched Patton 30 times and each time he would say, I don’t remember this scene. I am sending big prayers and good wishes your way. As I have said before, I pray that God comes through the surgeons hands. Will be thinking about you!

You should do fine Ike. Being young is a really big plus with this surgery. My advice is to stay on top of the pain, take as many meds as you need (even if you don’t feel like you need it right away) and get out of bed as soon after surgery as you can and then often afterward. I agree with Lainy about the spinal and morphine pump, I really did not experience any pain. The more you walk, the better you’ll feel. I spent 6 days in the hospital (a record for my surgeon, he was sooo proud). I was sitting up in a chair reading 2 days after surgery. keep a positive attitude, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and try and be patient (that is the hardest part!!). Good luck Ike.
