Just met with Dr. Kemeny. She made an appt. with me for Fri. with Dr. Fong. The news is mixed. Unfortunately.

    Ct Scan:
“Impression: overall, mildly improved intrahepatic disease, but moderately larger periportal adenopathy. Nearly resolved right pleural effusion and associated atelectasis.”

“Central Hepatic mass is 3.6×2.3 compared to 4.9×4.6 in March.
Segment II-III junction low attenuation lesion or mass measuring 1.5cm is less apparent but without substantial size change.” I believe the segment II-III is my sac of bile that they noted back in November.

“Separate segment V-VIII junction linear low attenuation lesion noted previously is now barely perceptible and more contracted as well, measuring 1.1×0.4cm, previously 1.2×0.7cm in March”. I didn’t even know about this one. I hope it’s far enough over to my left for me to get a chance at the resection.

“Main and right portal veins are patent although the posterior right sector is somewhat diminutive, stable.” I don’t know what this means. I know they blocked off the LEFT portal vein…

LUNGS: “There is improved aeration in the right lower lobe is resolved atelectasis with exception of patchy subsegmental atelectasis posteriorly at the right base and medially involving the right middle lobe. No new nodule or infiltrate is seen.” “Trace right pleural thickening or effusion remains, improved.”

Depending on my conversation with Dr. Fong, I will either get surgery, be prepped for radiation on lymph nodes and/or go back on Oxaliplatin or another platin drug. I don’t know why the tumor shrank and the lymph nodes grew. The chemo was systemic so it doesn’t make sense. But since when does anything about this $#@*ing cancer make any sense???
