California Senate Bill 161
continues to move with success!!!
SB 161 was heard at the Assembly hearing yesterday and PASSED!
This bill will require insurance companies which provide coverage for IV chemotherapy to also provide coverage no less favorable for oral chemotherapy. This will ensure that patients are afforded the opporuntity to choose the treatment that is best for them, and not have to worry about costs.The bill will next be heard on the Assembly floor and then on to the Governor. I will be providing updates and will be asking for everyone’s support through letter writing in the near future. There may also be opportunities for testimony and stories to be shared by patients and oncologists alike.
