So great to read about such a great news! So happy for you (not the hospital part, of course). When my husband had treatments, he found that having half a bag of fluids right after chemo and then fluids about a week after made a huge difference and prevented dehydration. As well as sipping some water or tea during chemo. Hope it helps.
    Sincerely, Alla

Holly, I am so happy for your good numbers but so sad you were sick from chemo. Kill those pesky cancer cells!
    Hugs, Lisa

Dear Holly, well, I am glad that episode is over! Not a fun Saturday. Do you have to have the Mannotil? I bet also that those tumors are crying out for help! Keep up the good work, girl, and hope the next treatment is a softer, gentler one.

the next bombing commenced and I landed in the hospital… needed rehydrating and all meds by i.v. for 24 hrs. now out and home and much better. I believe the entire problem is that my onc gives mannitol with this dosage of cisplatin – – and it makes me have the headache from hell even morphine does not help, and I got somehow behind the 8-ball and started throwing up and then you just spiral down. Oh well, yes, at least I can just feel those darn tumors suffering with me! ha! Anyway, thank you all my friends for being the best support group EVER!

Hi Holly. I remember you were having a scan around the same time as my husband and I’m glad you are both starting the year with positive news. Congratulations on your results so far and best of luck with the MRI results. Linda

    Dear wonderful CC family:
After three cycles of gem/cis (at 1000mg and 70 mg/m2) my AFP marker (hepatocellular carcinoma) went from 3000 to 114 and my CA 19-9 (cholangiocarcinoma) went from 3900 to 695. (I have a cancer that has both properties) So it looks like things are happening. The PET scan showed suv values are down by between a half on the little ones and down from 14 to 4 on the big one. That’s good news too. I also had an MRI but am awaiting the report. I could not wait to let you all know some good news today. I will post again the MRI hopefully soon! Got the start of a fourth cycle today so I have been bombed again. Bring it on!!!!!
