November 11, 2010 at 11:39 pm #44013marylloydSpectatorLainey,
Isn’t it wonderful that Teddy is going to be able to enjoy another Thanksgiving? He’s always been a miracle man and he keeps showing us how strong he is. I am very grateful that my family is still intact for another holiday season. We’ll be missing my baby, my 24 year old son has been in China for 7 months and won’t be home until next year , hopefully!! Your menu sounds great-my daughter does Thanksgiving and does a better job than I ever did. I just have to do some pies and homemade rolls so it’s kind of nice. Best wishes to all, MaryNovember 11, 2010 at 8:50 pm #44012helenmorementMemberHi Lainy
I haven’t been on this site for a while – but was so pleased to see you here and still so incredibly positive. Sounds like your Thanksgiving is going to be wonderful! Love and positive thoughts for you and your Teddy.

Make Teddy the biggest plate of food for Thanksgiving and savor every minute watching him enjoy eating it. Thanksgiving is my favorite time of the year as well. So thrilled to hear his pain level is 1 – 2.

November 10, 2010 at 3:37 pm #44005jennifersMemberI’m looking forward to seeing those recipes! Canadian Thanksgiving was last month, but I could already go for another feast… looks like I’ll have to wait until Christmas though!
Lainy, so glad Teddy is enjoying the bed, and that his pain is so well controlled.
Thinking of you both often…

November 10, 2010 at 1:07 pm #44004lainySpectatorslittle: What a great idea! You don’t scare me! Come one come all! Thanksgiving next year and Gavin will be here for his 40th!
Kris: You know how strong Teddy has been but his one fear too was the pain. I swear to you that it is under control. The most he ever feels is like a 1 -2 and that is the truth and then he takes his “hit” as he calls it. You come for Thanksgiving and I will puree the food. Ever had a Turkey shake??? We love you!
Andie: you may have hit on something…a recipe book with meals that Cancer patients can eat and enjoy. Could be a fund raiser.
And if Marion could tear herself away from her Grandson (wouldn’t blame her if she couldn’t) she could come also.
Good Morning World…To The Land of the Brave as Michelle said. I love that!
November 10, 2010 at 10:46 am #44003devoncatSpectatorLainy,
So glad Teddy is enjoying his new living space. I am hoping that when I need to, I will be as good a girl as Teddy is being a good boy. I bet the shower girl was the best part of the day. The one thing I love about living in the hospital is the nice bib shower stool and the unending hot water. I dont know what it is but water has a way of relaxing, refreshing, and recharging you. IT is a magic substance. We will not be having Thanksgiving here. I will not cook a feast in which I cannot partake! We have a tradition where we go around the table and list things we are thankful for. We will do that but likely with a pasta for Hans and a soup for me.
Lainy, one of my greatest fears is being in pain at the end stage. I get so much strength and comfort from your posts on Teddy and how well he manages. Thank you.

Thanksgiving is not a South African celebration but after hearing about all the yummy food, I wish it was!!!
What date is Thanksgiving? Enjoy the day, I will be thinking of all my American friends – sorry to be corny but it truly is the “Home of the brave!”
Love and lots of it

November 10, 2010 at 8:27 am #44001andieSpectatorHi Lainy,
So pleased Teddy is doing well, I think of you both often.
Your Thanksgiving menu has certainly made my mouth water this morning, like Gavin said I can almost smell the aromas too.
So glad you have found a second dish that Teddy enjoyed too. You will have to post all your recipes on here as they all sound so yummy. Perhaps you can start a section in the Members Cafe.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving.
Much love to you, Teddy and your family
Andrea
