    Hi Minnie,

Great to hear that Karl is coming home today. Hoping that the doctors can get to grips with the cause of his infection and sort it out.

Best wishes to you and Karl,

    Gavin

minnie…it is great to hear that they “think” to have found the cause for the infection. Coming home is the icing on the cake.
    Best wishes,

minnie…you might want to contact the gastroenterologist, or you may want to speak with the treating physician regarding your husband’s stent. I believe your husband is nearing the three months mark when often stents clog, cause an infection and need to be replaced.
Best wishes are coming your way,
    Marion

    Hi Minnie,
I had a number of similar episodes. It’s probably brought on by bile build up in the liver which promotes infection I’m usually given an IV treatment of Zosyn which has me stable in a couple of hours. BTW, they can also treat the rigors (severe chills) if they persist with a small dose of Demoral. It is amazing. The rigors stop in a minute or two. Prayers going out for Karl for success on Aug. 20…

    Grace and Peace,

    bob

    Hi Minnie,

Sorry to hear that Karl is in the hospital. I think that infections are quite common and you did the right thing in getting the ambulance out and getting Karl into the ER. Hopefully now Karl will get some anti-biotics or something that will get the infection sorted out. If you use the search function here I am sure that you will find more posts about infections and what was done to deal with them. As to whether the infection will affect Karl from getting surgery, I couldn’t say either way. Hoping that Karl makes a speedy recovery.

My best wishes to you both,

    Gavin

My husband, Karl was diagnosed with CC May 25 and is awaiting the surgery for Aug. 20. Up till now he has just been tired, but yesterday he had terrible chills and then hot and then as the day passed he became kind of delirious, and then falling all over the place when he got up to go to the bathroom. I called the ambulance and went to the ER. They said he has an infedction and admitted him for a couploe days until they get the results of some cultures they took. It is our local small hospital and I’m not sure that doctor knew anything about bile duct cance. He is stable today. Has anyone had a similar experience and do you think it could affect him getting the surgery?
