Hahaha! I was just talking to my mum about that and she says that her legs have been hair free since starting the chemo and that she’s enjoying that!! :)
Mum hasn’t lost her hair but it’s falling. She started her chemo in August. She feels it’s getting thinner. She’s on Gemzar and Oxaliplatin.

I let the hair on my legs grow in the winter, then clear-cut in the spring.

Kris….what happened when you turned 30? And, what constitutes a “special occasion”?

    Suzanne…
You still shave your legs? That when out the window when I turned 30 except for special occasions.

No hair loss for Charlie either after a lot of Gemzar, Xeloda and oxaliplatin. Everyone always says how great he looks and he does. He says sometimes he thinks people expect him to roll in in a wheelchair.

    Hi Lisa,
I’m on gemzar & cisplatin. I haven’t lost my hair to the point of being bald, but it is thinning. I don’t have bald spots or anything like that but the amount of hair that comes out in the shower and I can feel it is thinner when it’s dry tells me that I’m definately losing hair. I don’t think that by looking at me anyone could ever guess that I have this crazy cancer. Other than being a bit thin, I look normal. The one good thing is that my leg hair doesn’t grow back as fast so I don’t have to shave as often. We need to find the positive’s where we can!

I haven’t lost any hair and I’ve been having chemo for over a year (Gemzar/Xeloda). Everyone says that I look so healthy. It’s funny how we expect cancer paitients to be bald.

Someone said that this cancer is like colon cancer – a silent killer. People don’t look like they are sick, and don’t feel symptoms until late in the progression of the disease.
