Moo…..I would also like to welcome you to our site. I am glad that you took the plunge and signed up.
Moo…I am so sorry to hear of the recurrence of this cancer. Although there is a high rate of recurrence, we never are quite prepared when presented with the disappointing news. Do you know the location of the recurrence? Also, do you know as to which type of radiation will be used? Has chemotherapy been ruled out; if so then what are the reasons?
I am sorry to hear that you have encountered problems with attaching your posting to this site. Please, let us know if it continues to be a problem.
All my best wishes,
MarionNovember 28, 2011 at 3:54 pm #54883mooSpectatorHi everyone, thanks so much for the lovely welcome though I’m really sorry you all had to find yourselves here.
Apologies if this is a double post – me and the message board are not seeing eye to eye today and it just vanished my response when I tried to post…
My mum was diagnosed last year and had a whipple operation. She recovered amazingly but started feeling rough again earlier this year and the recurrence of the cancer was diagnosed last month. They can’t resect this time so she’s looking at palliative radiotherapy. She is the most wonderful mum anyone could hope for and I really want to help her though this horrible business.
Take care everyone

DianeNovember 22, 2011 at 4:29 pm #54880pcl1029MemberHi,
I am a patient of C CA too.But if you can tell us more about your mum’ condition(ie: intra or extra hepatic tumor?);any chemo in between the recurrence? And how long? What stage is your mum is in now?
Can she has resection again for the recurrence and where is the recurrence in the liver or the bile duct? If not, what is the doctor opinions on radiation treatment or chemo therapy?
Is she on any chemo or meds now?
How far apart is between the recurrence? And if I may,how old is your mum and her health condition?
I am not a doctor, but I wll try my best to answer the above questions and hopefully can give you some insight about this disease.
God blessNovember 22, 2011 at 3:40 pm #54879pamelaSpectatorDear Moo,
Welcome! I am glad you decided to join us. This site has been a godsend for me. At first, I found it a bit overwhelming and could only look at it once in awhile. It made me too sad. Now I am totally addicted! I feel it is a good addiction though. I have learned so much and I feel whenever I have a question I can get an answer right away. I also feel we all have such a special bond we can get nowhere else. My daughter, Lauren, is battling this terrible disease. When I am feeling sad or overwhelmed, I come to this place and find comfort. I also feel I can make someone else that is having a hard time feel better by offering a kind word and some encouragement. I hope you will continue to visit, ask questions, comment, and offer comfort to others. I look forward to your insight.

November 22, 2011 at 12:12 pm #54877gavinModeratorHi Moo,
Welcome to the site, good name you have as well! Sorry that you had to find us all and I am sorry to hear about your mum as well. But I’m glad that you have joined us all as you have come to the right place for support and help, and you will get a load of both from all of us. I am sure that you will also be of help to many with your posts, and hopefully now you have made your first post then it won’t be so scary posting in the future!
I see that you are from the UK. I am from the UK as well, in Dundee and we have many other members from the UK as well. Can you tell us a bit more about your mum, like where was she diagnosed and treated, and what treatment did she have before and what is she getting right now. The more information you can give us all the better if you can.
Glad that you have delurked now and I am looking forward to hearing more from you. And if you have any questions then please just ask away and we will all do what we can to help in answering you. We really are a very friendly bunch here and we know what you are going through right now.
My best wishes to you and your mum,
Gavin
November 22, 2011 at 11:39 am #5954mooSpectatorHi everyone
I’ve just registered but have been lurking here appreciating your info and support for a year or so now.
My mum has CC (originally last year, recently again) and it’s so hard finding any info about this cancer so thank you so much.
Maybe now I’ve got up the guts to register (with all we’ll been through, how is posting on a website so scary still?!!) I can be some help too : )
