High Dose Enzyme Therapy

Welcome to our discussion board.  I hope you have also found the resources for patients and caregivers available on the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation website.

I hope your question prompts some responses from other patients and caregivers.  I looked around and there is not a lot of information or medical journal studies on use of enzyme supplements together with chemotherapy for cholangiocarcinoma patients.  The general guidance for any supplements patients are considering is to discuss them with your doctor first to be sure they do not interfere with the chemotherapy, e.g., lessen its therapeutic value, or have potentially harmful side effects.

If you search “enzymes” on our board to look for patient stories it will regretfully not be very helpful because the search will also pick up the many postings where people discuss the results of liver enzyme tests.  If you have the name of a specific enzyme product, that might yield better results.

I wish I could be of more help, and am hoping other board members can help out with your question.
