Maj…..so sorry to hear of your situation. We have had and continue to have members join in from your Country. Perhaps someone familiar with Ireland’s healthcare system will share some information with you. You may also use the “search” function, upper task bar, and enter the word “Ireland.” Your posting as well as many others will appear.
Let us know if you need help with navigating this site.
    Hugs,
    Marion

Dear MAJ, welcome to our remarkable family but sorry you had to join us. This is the best place for CC support. I am so very sorry to read about your Mother and like Catherine said we are not sure that your Hospice works like ours.
I just Googled this and you might want to give it a try: hospicefoundation.ie/about-hospice-care/hospice-services-in-ireland/
Has her Doctor told her he can do no more for her. Has she had any treatments?
You never know how strong you are until “strong” is the only choice you have!

    Maj,

Welcome to our group. I’m sorry your mother’s diagnosis made you find us, but I’m glad you did.

I know things are different than in the US, but I’m hopeful that some other members may be able to chime in and help.

Is your mother having treatments? If you haven’t done so yet, there maybe some info at the link below which could be useful.

    Best wishes,

My mother has stage IV BDC , does anyone have any experience or point me to a post where they provided full time care at home, what helped / resources required etc. I’m frightened I’m not strong enough to see this through!

Thanks for any help you can give

    Maj
