Thanks for letting us know how Patrick is doing and that is great to hear that he is doing better! I too hope that you can get him home by the weekend, as there is nothing like home after all! Also very glad to hear you say that you don’t feel so alone anymore.

May 17, 2012 at 4:02 am #61015lainySpectatorGreat news Katheryn, I hope he can go home too! Did they set a new chemo date?
Thanks for the update, we love being in the loop!May 17, 2012 at 3:36 am #61014katherynMemberThank you everyone for your support and prayers. Patrick is doing better, and we are hoping he can leave the hospital by the weekend. I didn’t realize how many complications can arise with CC. I don’t feel so alone since joining the CC foundation and have learned so much from it. Thank you again!

Yes it is unfair and we all know & share your frustrations and anger. You are not alone. We are all here for you. I’m hoping for you two to get a break and that things will begin to improve soon. Keep coming back here and vent all you want. Please keep us udated as to how Patrick is doing. Think of you.

DarlaMay 14, 2012 at 10:27 pm #61012nancy246SpectatorHi Katheryn, Sending lots of postive thoughts that Patrick’s infection gets cleared up ASAP so he can start his chemo. I agree this is really unfair!
Keep planning for that future, one must live with hope. Hugs. NancyMay 14, 2012 at 6:21 pm #61011gavinModeratorHi Katheryn,
Sorry to hear about Patrick being back in the ER right now with everything. And I can hear and so understand your frustration and anger about everything. And please, no apologies what so ever are ever needed by you or anyone else for coming here and venting or shouting about anything. We so understand and we are here for you. I know that venting helps, so you come here and do that as much as you want to. And I so hope that Patrick’s doctors can deal with this and get his pain under control.
Hugs,
Gavin
May 14, 2012 at 1:50 pm #61010mustangmortSpectatorKatheryn, I too know the pain of cholangitis. The pain is very intense, like kidney stones.
Please relay to Patrick my concern but also my love and prayers.
One day at a time………..and he can lick this.People keep asking if I am concerned about my condition. I just smile and reply, “I’m not going anywhere”…………….and I really believe it.
May 14, 2012 at 4:18 am #61009lainySpectatorI am so sorry to hear about Patrick’s latest news. I had a Gall Bladder attack a few years ago with no other complications and I can say it was SOOOOO painful! I hope he overcomes this very quickly and that the pain gets under control. Not sure but perhaps a 2nd opinion could be in order. Where is he being treated?
May 14, 2012 at 4:02 am #6825katherynMemberI woke up at 2:30am Saturday morning to my fiancé Patrick overcome with severe pain in his stomach. We went to ER, where he was admitted to the hospital. The doctors found that his gallbladder had a very bad infection. In a “normal” case scenario the doctors said that they would remove it, however they can’t do it at this time because it would cause even more complications with his cholangiocarcinoma. They put a drain in, which will help the body get ready of excess fluids (or whatever it is) that won’t drain properly. We are so disappointed because we thought he would be able to start chemo this week, however it needs to be pushed back yet again because of issues with infections over the past few weeks. He is on antibiotics at the hospital right now, and still in a lot of pain. This is so FRUSRATING! Four weeks ago we we happily planning our wedding and future ahead of us, and now we are fighting for life. I’m sorry, I needed to vent this. This is just SO UNFAiR!!
