Porter, I want to repeat a tip to you before I forget, I did this when I had my GIST Cancer removed. I was already on the lovely table and I asked the Anesthesiologist if I could have an epidural and he said sure you can. It doesn’t really hurt and it numbs your upper body from 24 – 48 hours! It was the best thing I did. Please don’t be afraid, after surgery in this time and age they really aim to keep you comfortable. Awaiting to hear all the good news!
Hi all thanks for the tremendous support as always. I am scheduled for pre op consult on the 17th this month and then surgery is scheduled for the 27th. I am coming up with a list of questions to bring to my appt on the 17th so if any of you have any questions that I could bring to the table please let me know. My tumor is still fairly large and from what I understand surgeon is confident that she can remove all the cancer with a resection and not have to reconstruct any main veins (which they thought they might had to do). I must admit I am scared as all get out but also blessed to get this opportunity.
