    Chrissie,

As a CC patient, I want to thank you for myself and all the others struggling with….FIGHTING….this awful cancer. Any donations may be just the amount it takes to help support some research that might lead to better treatments or even a cure for some of us. Your dad would be very proud of you. You’ve become a warrior!!! Thank you again.

Chrissie…..the gall bladder and the bile ducts are in the same region of the body, but from a molecular level there are no other commonalities. Gall bladder cancer and cholangiocarcinoma are two distinctly different cancers.
Our upcoming Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation annual conference (Feb 5-6, Salt Lake City, Utah) brings together many of the top clinicians, researchers, surgeons and others focused on the disease of Cholangiocarcinoma. We don’t have corporate sponsors and the foundation is predominantly a volunteer driven organization therefore; donation to this worldwide cause is very much appreciated. So, I too would like to thank your company for taken your donation request under consideration.
I believe that those that (patient or love one) confronted with this cancer become traumatized in some way. We must remember that there is no proof of a genetic link to this disease and the likelihood of any of us having this cancer is miniscule. And, based on the thousands of entries on this discussion board we may have 5 people (at most) with a family history of this cancer.

    Hugs,
    Marion

Crissi, glad to hear from you! sometimes, actually most of the time CC makes no sense at all. We just do the best we can with it biding out time until some cures come along. Hopefully sooner than later. How very nice of you to ask for donations for our Organization that is a beautiful thing to do. Hope you are doing OK and we thank you for the donations and for stopping in.

Well I finally got to talk to my dad’s nurse. He passed in April.

He had extrahepatic bile duct cancer stage IV. The doc gave him a year with chemo….it was almost a year to the date of diagnosis that he passed.

They think it came from the gallbladder but can’t be sure. He had physicals each year for his employment and nothing ever came up. The nurse said that even when he passed his liver enzymes were not abnormal.

This cancer is my enemy now. I have asked my company to donate to this organization.
