Oh Andie – I am right with you… I was thinking of you today and I’m sad that the outcome of the meeting wasn’t a positive one. I pray that we can both share one more Christmas with our Dads.

I don’t know what else to say…. I’m so sorry. Love and hugs to you and your family…

We met with Professor Lodge today and he told us that he can’t help Dad. Since his last scan in August the tumor has grown and there is now spots showing on the liver. He also said Cyberknife won’t be an option now either. I have a feeling Dad has weeks instead of months from what Professor Lodge was saying. Dad has now agreed to have the Macmillan Nurses in as both him and Mom need the support. Professor Lodge recommended this and Dad seems to have taken it on board from him. We will organise this next time the DN come in.

Our last hopes have been dashed and we are now having to come to terms with the fact that there is nothing else that can be done for Dad. Hopefully we can share Christmas together but I have a feeling Dad won’t fight as much anymore, he was starting to give up before we had this appointment.

Dad managed the journey to Leeds really well, he seemed to have his spring in his step back and really enjoyed staying in the hospital hotel. We arrived to snow but luckily the roads were clear. We all watched Sunday night tv together and had a laugh. The journey back though was long.

I can’t praise Professor Lodge and his team enough. We stayed in the hospital hotel overnight and had a 9.30 appt with Professor Lodge. He agreed to look at the CT scan Dad was due to have at 1.45 straight away so we could have an answer before we went. Even the CT scan was done quickly. I would highly recommend him. I just wish we would have seen him earlier but it’s all if’s and but’s and nothing is going to change now.

    Best wishes to everyone

    Andrea
