Whipple does sound like something yummy to eat. Good luck on the operation and I will be waiting for a full (and full of good news) report back.

MUCH GOOD LUCK! Remember the ad for toilet paper when they would say, “don’t squeeze the Whipple?” or maybe that was just in the USA. But that is what I always think of. GERRY! I just realized that where yours is, that is where Teddy’s is!! He had his Whipple 5 years ago but the new spot is in the Ampula of Vater and is 3 cm. Gosh, just don’t know if he would go through another Whipple at 77. He keeps saying no more surgery. He had the Whipple 2 x as the first was aborted after 4 hours. No cyber knife, huh? We will be saying prayers for you and Teddy will light a candle as he goes to Mass every morning.

For such a major operation the whipple has a very pleasant-sounding name, like ice-cream – they really need to call it something else. Anyway, I’m booked-in for a whipple on Thursday at St Vincent’s, Dublin and I need your good thoughts and prayers, again. I was diagnosed last September with CC in the distal area – the tumour is located in the Ampulla of Vater. My first whipple operation last December failed as I had a temporary inflammation of the pancreas (caused by the ERCP while putting a stent in place). While waiting for the inflammation to clear, I’ve had 3-months chemo and I’m now ready for a 2nd whipple. This site has been a fantastic resource and thanks for your help so far on this journey.

Please keep me in your thoughts on Thursday.

    Gerry
