Barbara, it would be so neat next year if some of our celebrities (members) in your area could attend! I would imagine you are so organized you could have next years evenT tomorrow! And I want to thank you so very much for representing us at all of these meetings!
November 8, 2012 at 1:26 am #66388barbara6193SpectatorThank you so very much, Lainy – Karen – Pamela and Marion, for your kind words. It was amazing and I already have pages of notes for next years – 2nd Annual Jacques Dupont Memorial Silent Auction Benefit.
The one thing that I did not do this year – I did not think of it until the next day – was to have pictures taken. But, I solved this already – I have a photographer that already volunteered to do this for me, next year. I am truly blessed to have so many kind, caring and generous people in my life.
Looking forward to representing The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation at AASLD The Liver Meeting in Boston this weekend.
Love from NH,

Amidst one of the largest storms ever to attack the East Coast you attend the ASTRO conference, Boston, on behalf of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and then you turn around and honor your sweet Jacques with this beautiful memorial and fundraiser. I wish to have been there.
Thank you, dear Barb. Please travel safely to the upcoming AALD conference.

Oh, how the tears are flowing. I too know that Jacques is around you at all times and lends his support in your ongoing battle for a cure to this monster disease that took him physically away from you. You are doing wonders….bravo sweet lady.
In peace,

Thank you so much for your generosity to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. I am so sorry to hear about Jacques, but I am sure he is so proud of what you did to help others in his name. God bless you, Barbara and thank you again from myself and my 26 year old daughter suffering with this cancer.
Love, -Pam

November 7, 2012 at 2:35 am #7585barbara6193SpectatorI lost the love of my life 5 years ago, and as a tribute to him I wanted to do something for the 5 year mark. My Jacques lost his courageous battle with cholangiocarcinoma on November 10, 2007 at the young age of 56. To honor him and to raise awareness of this horrific, rare cancer, I organized the Jacques Dupont 5 year Memorial Silent Auction to Benefit The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation which was held on November 3rd, 2012. I made a decision shortly after my Jacques was taken by this cancer, that I would never stop using my voice and/or energy to raise awareness for this rare cancer, all in loving memory of him.
The Benefit consisted of a Silent Auction, appetizers, a cash bar, and dancing. People came and bid, danced, and reminisced as we honored and remembered my Jacques. We had over 60 items for attendees to bid on, which consisted on Gift Certificates to restaurants, salons, spas, golf, lumber yard etc. Other items were a Kindle Fire, live piano music, theme baskets, paper shredder, quartz heater, tools, beauty products, and much, much more.
My goal for this First Annual Silent Auction Benefit was $3,000. I am so proud to say that as of today, I raised $4,868.
Saturday night was an emotional evening for sure – all to honor the love of my life. I know that my Jacques was looking down with an enormous amount of love and pride for me and everyone who attended or contributed. I am already making notes and planning for next year, It will be bigger and better. Words cannot express the appreciation I have for all of the support I have been given – as I said at the benefit – Cholangiocarcinoma may be a word that you have never heard – but tonight I have raised awareness and I will continue to do so. This was an amazing night, but I’ve only just begun. CANCER – look out – we’re working together to “Kick Your A.. !!!! -
