Thank you all for your support in these years and we all pray now that some drug came to eliminate all the cancers in near future.

CatherineJune 14, 2016 at 5:36 am #77376faisalMemberHello everyone! It is very unfortunate for me to inform you all that my father after battling nearly four years of cholangiocarcinoma died 9th june 2016.we are very much unfornate not having any research in this disease.I am hoping that in future some good research happens for patients to get relieved somewhat of this monster disease. Thanks
December 26, 2015 at 7:18 am #77375marionsModeratorfaisal…..Patients with cholangiocarcinoma are at risk for a serious complication called ascending cholangitis; a bacterial infection of the biliary system, which can be fatal. The risk of this complication is highest in patients with biliary stents, and biliary drainage tubes.
Biliary drainage stents have a tendency to clog with debris within (approximately) 4 to more weeks.I have been told to watch for any of these symptoms:
fever or rigors
chillspatients may also experience:
intermittent or constant cramp-like or dull pain in upper right side or upper middle part of abdomen, back of right shoulder blade,
dark urine, clay-colored stool
nausea and vomiting
jaundice (intermittent or constant)Anyone of the above mentioned must be reported to the physician or patient must be taken to nearest hospital.
Cholangiocarcinoma is rare. This means that community doctors outside of your specialized treatment team may not be familiar with the management of specific complications that may arise.
It is for this reason that the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation provides a biliary card. This downloadable card must be on hand at all times. It will provide medical personnel with information on how to contact your doctor(s) should it be necessary. If your doctor(s) cannot be reached, it will direct medical personnel to specific guidelines for your treatment.
Please click on the following link, fill out the information to the best of your knowledge and then click print. A card will print out which you should keep with and show to any medical personnel who may be treating you.

I hope and wish for your father to recover quickly and that the information provided will avoid further complications related to biliary stent infections.
Hugs,
MarionDecember 25, 2015 at 3:40 pm #77374faisalMemberHi All After a long time.My Father is weekened with repeated cholangitis as a result of infection.I mean doesn`t doctors advance research in the field so that no more patients get pain in the future. Can we do something in this cause to emphasise a research team to have advancements in this cancer research. This is particularly a nightmare disease in our family through our father.
Please Suggest me if we can do something in this regard. We can`t be like Terry Fox of Canada but can try our best.
