I am so very sorry for the loss of your sister, Karen. It’s never easy to lose those we love, especially to this horrific disease. You sound very strong and I hope, in time, beautiful memories of Karen, can bring a smile to your face and somewhat ease your pain.
Please know I am thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
Peace,

January 8, 2014 at 7:11 pm #78474lainySpectatorDear Gail I am so very sorry about your Sister Karen. She truly put up a gallant fight but is now at Peace and whole again with the rest of our loved ones. When you can be happy again you will realize that she is only in the next room as Sisters have a special bond that cannot be broken.
Letter from Heaven by Ruth Ann Mahaffey
To my dearest family some things I’d like to say
But first of all to let you know that I arrived okay,
I’m writing this from Heaven. Here I shall dwell with God above
Here, there’s no more tears of sadness. Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy because I’m out of sight
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and He said “I welcome you,
It’s good to have you back again,
you were missed while you were gone,
As for your dearest family, they’ll be here later on.
God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do
And foremost on the list was to watch and care for you
And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight
God and I are closest to you . . in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth and all those loving years
Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears
But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
One thing is for certain though my life on earth is o’er
I’m closer to you now than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb
Together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
When you’re walking down the street and you’ve got me on your mind
I’m walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind
And when it’s time for you to go . . from that body to be free
Remember you’re not going . . you’re just coming here to me.January 8, 2014 at 6:53 pm #78473pfox2100MemberMy condolences and I am so sorry your families loss. Sending you lots of love, strength, and prayer.

DarlaJanuary 8, 2014 at 5:53 pm #9367gprinsMemberMy sister Karen (aka kaklon) from Ashland, MO passed away peacefully today, in little pain and surrounded by family at home. She was Dx 18 months ago with a 5×5 cm primary in her left lobe, but unfortunately, 3 + lymph nodes that eventually spread and got her. She was treated in Sept 2013 with Y-90 at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago by Dr. Riad Salem which totally killed her primary tumor. Highly recommended. Dr Scholssman at Missouri Cancer Center was superb and kind and is also recommended to anyone in the area in need of an oncologist. She tried Barnes at first, but was treated poorly and felt like a number. She was stable on Gem-Cis for 11 months, but it began to spread after a 2.5 month chemo-holiday. Took off rapidly after that, despite brave intervention with 2cd line chemo and another round of Y-90 for the liver mets. It eventually produced brain metastasis(yes, that does happen) that was removed by surgery on Nov 26. Alas, she made it to her 62 birthday on Dec 13 and the wheels came off after that. We celebrate her life with us and her life eternal.
We thank you so much for the wealth of information that we have derived from your site the past 18 months.
