Darla –
Back to tearing up the house so I guess he must be feeling much better. Ran me ragged all day so I am as tired as if I would have gone to chemo.

DarlaJanuary 18, 2014 at 1:57 am #78869pfox2100MemberHi, what wonderful news and I think a chemo done party is a great idea. I wish you guys continued glorious news and so happy for yall.
January 18, 2014 at 1:02 am #78868kvollandSpectatorWell, he’s home now. I guess there was some talk about giving him one dose of another drug in two weeks to cover the “missed” dose this time but no one knows for sure….Hmmm our ONC is at a conference this week….LOL. But I got a copy of the lab work and his CA 19-9 is 16 which is the lowest it has ever been so that is good.
And yes I think I want to throw a “Chemo Done” Party but I don’t think I will do it until after the 31st when we know for sure.

January 17, 2014 at 10:45 pm #78866lainySpectatorGood news, Kris but sorry he got so sick again and sorry the little Munchkin got sick. I hope the next 2 weeks are quiet for you and try to relax. Yeah, telling you to relax is like telling myself to relax. Last Monday Robin and her BF Robert took me to dinner at Carabbas and our waitress kept coughing. Wed. the 3 of us broke out with the flu or something like it. I have been in bed with my vaporizer at my side. From what I hear the flu is spreading like wildfire. Ugh. I have not had it in about 8 years. Oh well…..hope everyone gets healed fast at your house.
January 17, 2014 at 9:37 pm #9426kvollandSpectatorWell all,
It’s finally done. We did the last chemo today (well, Mark did). Six months and 6 cycles of Gem/Ox and it’s finally at an done. Short round today too. He had another reaction to the Ox about 15 minutes into the infusion so they stopped and are sending him home after a bit. He says this one is worse, itching all over and his throat is really sore and swollen. And I wasn’t there, can you believe that? I actually gave myself permission to not go today. Our middle boy took him. Of course I had other reasons too….Home with sick grandbaby after spending most of the night in the ER with him. Poor little guy has an ear infection and an upper respiratory infection. I am amazed that he is still in such a good mood.
Now we go back in two weeks for the CT scan, chest x-ray and lab work. We will meet with our ONC and see what he has to say about long term plan. I suspect (and hope) that he is done now except for monitoring. The CT a few months ago was clear so I hope this one is too. My hope is that if they see nothing we will just take a watch and see approach. They talked about radiation at one point after the chemo but I can’t see doing radiation if there is nothing they can see to radiate. Now just two weeks of scan anxiety.
