Patty…..according to the researcher this study is carrying over to CCA as well. We must remember, CCA has many mutations (more than pancreatic cancer) however; the question becomes as to what to do with the knowledge.

I had the liquid (blood) biopsy done about a year ago, and it basically came up with nothing. It was done by Guardant 60 also.

Catherine……it will be interesting to see the results. As Dr. Maitra mentioned, tumors continuously evolve during therapy i.e. new changes, new pathways, new mutations.

    Marion,

We are waiting results from Guardant60;blood test for genetic mutations. Although I’m not sure how valuable it will be at this time since all tumor appears dead, I still will share detail of report when received.

Marion, this is really wonderful news! There is an old Hebrew saying that translates in to, “From your mouth to G-ds ears!”

Researchers detected a variety of cancer-derived biomarkers, including genetic mutations, insertions, deletions, copy number profiles and gene fusions that can act as new targets for the immune system in a small group of pancreatic patients.

Ultimately I wish for our patients to benefit from this research as well and perhaps, some time in the future, eliminate the invasive and often difficult biopsy procedures.
