I have been thinking and praying for you! I am so relieved to hear you are home and recovering. Stay strong and keep that positive attitude. You are such a trooper and will get through this. What a blessing your Mother is there to help you recover. Hang in there Lisa. HollieSeptember 15, 2009 at 2:48 pm #31263darlaSpectatorLisa,

Oh, I am just so happy there is not much more I can say. Please be a spoiled brat and let everyone take care of you and treat you like a Princess! Will be watching for updates.

Great news! I am home now. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, and thanks to my Mom for taking such good care of me in the hospital. I don’t know what I would do with out her. I know my recovery would be much longer without her. Thanks Jess for keeping you all informed!
I am in some pain from the incisions, and feel very weak right now. But we know that when we are weak, God is strong and we cling ever more tightly to Him.
My surgeon does not really know what the relationship between the cholangiocarcinoma and the inflamed appendix is, if any, but he seems to feel that I was more susceptable due to the cancer and treatments over the past 2 years. I asked him how I was doing, and he looked me in the eyes and said “You’re doing great!”. So I decided to believe him.
I am eating small portions of food now, as my appetite is nearly shot. However, everything is staying down and the nausea has passed, thanks be to God. I think a lot of my nausea and dizziness is from the strong pain meds that they had me on.
So I am home now and the plan is to rest, rest, rest, and recuperate. I will be using a walker till I get my strength back. A home nurse will be visiting a couple of times a week to take vitals and check up on me. So all is good, praise God!
Toddling off to bed now,

September 12, 2009 at 1:31 am #31257louiseSpectatorYou might want to check at the nurse’s station if dogs are allowed to visit. There are many fine companions who visit patients in a variety of situations, bringing comfort to those who need it. For many people, a visit from a pet can be as therapeutic as a visit from their kids, or more helpful than another pill.

September 11, 2009 at 8:53 pm #31256devoncatSpectatorThanks for sharing. I know that I miss my kitties when I am in the hospital…and a cat is not near as nice as a dog.
Hope you get otta there soon Lisa!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven’t updated lately, Ive been very busy with classes.
My mom is doing better, she called me today and told me she is a bit sore from the incisions and cant keep anything down. Other then that she is feeling stronger, we are still hoping that she can go home Friday or Saturday. She wont admit it but I think she really misses our dogs snuggling with her. Tomorrow the doctors are going to take x-rays of her lungs to make sure that fluid is going down.
She wanted me to thank all of you for your prayers and kind words.
Love all of you!
Always,
