Dr. John Brems 1-847-695-6600; excellent liver and abdominal surgeon, clinical professor of surgery,Loyola University in Chicago. I was his patient 2 years ago.But most importantly, he is well respected by his peers in the GI surgical filed. He is currently also the surgical director of Center for Advanced Liver and Pancreatic Care at Sherman Health System at Elgin,IL.He has a personal nurses names Holly(1-630-715-7253) who will take calls for patients for questions before during and after surgery and I think you should contact her first.Holly is a liver transplant nurse with Dr.Brems .Be sure to bring the most recent copied CT scan or MRI disc and the paper report of the Ct or MRI results,BMP and CBC and lab and recent procedures like stents and radiology procedure are of value too.

Dr.Brems has performed 700 liver transplants and more than a thousands of liver resections ;experience counts; He had performed 2 resections for me in the last 2 years.
If Dr. Brems say you can have surgery ,ask where and how he will do it.
If the answer is no,ask him what is the reason he cannot do it and compare his assessments to the first opinion to learn more about your husband’s CC. actual problem.
Dr. Brems is a quiet person full of surgical knowledge in liver transplant and resection and easy to talk too; but you have to be polite and ask the RIGHT questions in order to know more about your husband’s CC specific condition as you will do the same for all other specialists in the future.
