I was also concerned about that but no heart damage has shown up. When the pain goes away I’m normal again in a few minutes. The pains started about three weeks after I finished my radiation treatments and have continued now for 18 months. DT

    David,
I have had the same surgery, August 2003, but have not experienced your symptoms.
It is a major change to our bodies, digestive and bile systems so it isn’t surprising that we ‘work’ differently then the rest of the population.
I have no medical training but am struck that the pain you describe seems to be in the area of your heart?

    My name is David.
I was diagnosed with a Cholangiocarcinoma in Aug of 2004. I was sent to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN and had surgery in early Sept. I had 5/8ths of my liver removed along with the gall bladder, common bile duct and local lymph nodes. So far there has been no evidence that the cancer spread beyond my liver.
I was wondering if any of you have had trouble with Anemia. I have been having trouble with chronic anemia for the last several months and we have not yet determined why.
Since Jan. 2005 I’ve also experience a sharp pain under my ribs just to the left of my sternum. The timing of the pain is totally random and only lasts for about 30 seconds but it can be a very long 30 seconds at times. Does anyone else experience this and have you found any relief for it. My Doctor has no explanation and tells me I may just have to learn to live with it. DT
