mybdm….possibly, due to the cirrhosed liver the other treatments could possibly harm your husband. Have you asked this question? Hopefully, you will receive your call soon from John Hopkins and from the University of Maryland if not, you just might want to become a pest and bug them.
    Wishing for the absolute best,

Thanks for your support. I’ll ask again about stents and bile thinners. His problem is that he doesn’t have just one big tumor, he has many little ones all over his liver. I think most doctors aren’t prepared to deal with this sort of thing, which is why some treatments were automatically ruled out by his oncologist. No radiation, chemoembolization, or Cyberknife; only 5FU, which has had limited effect but seemed to be the only thing keeping the tumors at bay. I don’t know if he’ll ever go back on it.

Mybdm, I’m so sorry things are getting worst. Have they considred given him a bile thinner to maybe lesson the juandice? I don’t know what it’s called but it does help a little. If you haven’t gotten calles back call them again and let them know thing are getting worse and a would really like to get in asap. Even though he has intrahepatic it could be possible in my opinion to get some relief depending on location of tumors by placing a stent or drain. I sure hope you get to see someone real soon.
    God Bless,
    Jeff

I can’t believe he got worse so fast. My husband’s tumor marker level was 156 a couple of weeks ago and jumped up by 1000! We have to find someone to treat him or else we may lose him very soon. I’m expecting calls from the University of Maryland and from Johns Hopkins. I’m also thinking of calling a priest to see him in the next few days. He is so tired and yellow today. He still eats, drinks, and has bowel movements but…
About my other post, he has had surgeries in the past including one in his abdomen for a hernia. He also has had cirhossis and hepatitis in the past. The doctors said since his case is intrahepatic stents are not going to be useful. I think these places are our last two options at this point.
