    Irene,
    there are many other physicians having performed resection who are not listed as being affiliated with a major cancer centers. You will do well by contacting Dr. Jenkins at the Lahey clinic as he has perfomed many CC surgeries. Also, Peter’s resection was performed by Dr. Jenkins, and there are others. Please, let me know if I can be of any help contacting him.

    Hi All:
    I am hoping some more experienced people can help with guidance.

    I am a newly diagnosed CC patient and while there are a few more hurdles, plan has been for surgery at cancer center here in NH.

    Have heard wonderful things on this board about docs at Lahey and am seeking second opinion there; there is a possibility I could pursue surgery at Lahey instead as they seem to have more direct experience.

    However, when I look at the places listed as “major cancer centers” Lahey does not show up. Is this an area of concern? Or is it more that they do pioneering work on liver-related cancers but this is not general enough to gain recognition as “major” center?
